Filling 500 jobs in the next six months…that’s the exciting challenge we’re relishing in the Midlands. Whatever you might have heard, the UK construction industry is growing. And right now our construction partners are telling us they need at least 500 trained, willing people to start work on their construction projects.
That’s 500 new jobs, minimum. We find the learners, and together with our training partners, put them through our Introduction to Construction Skills courses, with guaranteed work opportunities awaiting them.
Cementing partnerships with bespoke training
In collaboration with construction and rail partners O’Neill & Brennan, Ganymede and Morson Vital, Cidori is delivering a needs-based Introduction to Construction Skills training programme to equip this growing sector with a qualified, multi-disciplined workforce.
Partnerships like this are designed to ensure a continuous route into the construction industry. Following training our learners are available to start immediately on construction sites where they are clearly needed.
Sustainable job opportunities
Cidori has many years of experience in coordinating the national delivery of pre-employment training, working with a number of industry leaders like O’Neill & Brennan, Ganymede and Morson Vital to get people back into sustainable work. We are passionate that the measure of success in each of our partnerships is about getting the right people into the right jobs at the right time.
Our partnership model also means that industry partners can engage with candidates that may previously have been unable to access their chosen industry. Cidori has dedicated teams working with some of the most difficult to engage learners in many socially deprived areas. Our aim is to help remove barriers to employment, working within local communities to bring skills training to those who need it most.
Together with our strong track record of NVQ delivery, these collaborations are set to provide increasing numbers of well-trained people for this and other rapidly developing sectors.
Career building blocks
We are meticulous when it comes to tracking and capturing accurate job outcome data. So to see increasing job outcome rates following these courses makes it all worthwhile. Our data shows that 66% of learners are moving directly into employment following our pre-employment training. We think that’s a pretty impressive statistic.
It’s also great to hear back from our learners like Stephen (pictured), who recently went through one of our Construction Skills Courses (CSCS) in Liverpool and has subsequently moved on to do some Rail Track Safety (PTS) training.
Stephen recently emailed one of our Employment Managers:
“I can’t praise Cidori enough for the way they run things. Really looking forward to the PTS side…I’ve been filling in my work search journal and commenting how Cidori have done all they can to help me achieve the qualifications needed to get a decent job with a good future.”
Cidori works with a number of large colleges across the country, delivering to an Ofsted Level 1 standard. Since May 2018, along with our training partners we have helped some 200 learners per month successfully through the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) alone.
Candidates for all these courses are unemployed, over 19 years of age and in receipt of either Universal Credit or Job Seekers Allowance. Our partnerships allow us to highlight areas of the country that have a skills shortage. Once this is profiled, the Cidori team will engage with relevant agencies in that region and get people the training and job opportunities they are seeking.
